If your account has been enabled to use WorldClient's BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES), then the BlackBerry Management page will appear under Options within WorldClient. Use this page to Enterprise Activate and manage your BlackBerry device. Enterprise Activation provides seamless synchronization of data between your WorldClient/MDaemon account and BlackBerry device. Your email, calendar, contacts, and other data such as notes and tasks can be synchronized. When an email message is read, a calendar event or contact is created, or another similar action is taken in WorldClient or on the device, the data will be changed in both places. You can also use the Lookup feature on your device to look up other users at your domain or company, use Free/Busy data to help you schedule a time for a calendar event when attendees are free, and more. For more on the various wireless synchronization options and settings available on your device, see your device's documentation or online help.
WorldClient's BlackBerry Enterprise Server does not support management for BlackBerry 10 devices. If you have a BlackBerry 10 device you may be able to use ActiveSync to synchronize your device with WorldClient. Access to BES or ActiveSync may not be available for all users. See BlackBerry 10 Setup for instructions on how to setup BlackBerry 10 devices. |
Before activating your device:
1. | Disable or remove any third-party sync clients (such as a SyncML client) that you may currently be using to synchronize data with your WorldClient/MDaemon account. |
2. | If the device is configured to use the BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) to get email from the account, go to the device's email setup and remove that account. |
3. | If there are any existing calendar entries on the device, you must either wipe the device or reset the calendar. Otherwise existing calendar data on the WorldClient/MDaemon server may not be sent to the device. Always backup your device data before doing this. Note: if you choose to reset the calendar rather than wipe the device, the reset may be performed after activation. See Resetting the Device Calendar below for more information. |
Failure to ensure that Steps 1 and 2 above are completed may result in duplicates of email, calendar entries, or other personal information management (PIM) data on the device. |
There are two methods available for activating your BlackBerry device: wired activation via USB cable and wireless activation, or "Over the Air" (OTA) activation.
To activate your device using this method:
1. | Log in to WorldClient using Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or later. |
2. | Click Options » BlackBerry Management. |
3. | Allow the Active-X control to install and run when prompted. |
Adding WorldClient's Domain to the Trusted Security Zone This information applies to Windows Internet Explorer 7 and Windows Internet Explorer 8. Internet Explorer assigns all websites to one of four security zones: Internet, Local intranet, Trusted sites, or Restricted sites. The zone to which a website is assigned specifies the security settings that are used for that site. By adding a website to a specific zone, you can control the level of security used on that site. To add WorldClient's domain to the Trusted security zone:
If the site is not a secure site (HTTPS), clear the Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone check box.

5. | Plug in your BlackBerry device to your computer using a USB cable. |
6. | Click Activate Device under the Wired Activation heading. When the wired portion of the activation process is complete, you will see the following message: "Wired activation complete. You may disconnect the USB cable. Enterprise activation will continue on the device." |
7. | Disconnect your device from the computer. The activation process will continue on the device until it is finished. |
To wirelessly activate your device:
1. | Log in to WorldClient. |
2. | Click Options » BlackBerry Management. |
3. | Under Over the Air Activation, create an Activation Password and then type it again in the Confirm Password box. |
4. | Click Save. |
5. | On your BlackBerry device, go to the Enterprise Activation screen. Its location depends on your device and the BlackBerry software it is running, but typically it is under: Menu » Options » Advanced Options » Enterprise Activation. |
6. | Enter your WorldClient/MDaemon account's email address in the space provided. |
7. | Enter the Activation Password you just created (not your email account's password). |
8. | Press Menu, and Activate. |
Not all devices support OTA activation. |
When your BlackBerry device is activated, your WorldClient/MDaemon account's Inbox and folder list will be synchronized with your device automatically. You can use the Folder Redirection options on the device to specify the mail folders that you wish to synchronize with WorldClient, or you can tick the Push to BlackBerry checkboxes next to the desired folders within WorldClient.
To synchronize your device calendar with your WorldClient calendar you must have Wireless Synchronization enabled under your device's calendar options. The Calendar Options screen is typically reached by opening your device calendar and pressing Menu, and then Options. On the Calendar Options screen click the Desktop calendar entry, and then make sure that "Wireless Synchronization" is set to Yes.
If there are any existing calendar entries on the device before it is activated, you must either wipe the device or reset the calendar. Otherwise existing calendar data on the WorldClient/MDaemon server may not be sent to the device. If you choose to reset the calendar rather than wipe the device, the reset may be performed after activation. See Resetting the Device Calendar below for more information. Always backup your device data before erasing it or resetting the calendar. |
